Commonly used Re-directs

Re-direct is a process of moving or directing the search engine and the visitors from one URL to another URL. The old URL may be removed or unavailable for the time being or the URL of a site has been changed and in all these cases you do not want to lose search engine’s attention and the visitors and you bring them to new URL of your site.

The most commonly used re-directs are 301, 302 and error 404.

  • Re-direct 301:

It’s a type of re-direct that tells the search engine that a page or site has been permanently moved to some new location. The main purpose of re-direct command is to ask search engine to leave the old URL and index the new page URL. In 301 re-direct, almost 99% page ranking is transferred to new page from the old one. It also avoids confusion of search engine to duplicate the contents (of old and new page).

For applying 301 re-direct, you need “.htaccess” file for writing the command in it. As mentioned above you can have .htaccess in the root folder of your website and then write the command in it. If a page or file URL has been changed and you want to re-direct the traffic, the code will be as below:

RedirectPermanent /old_file.html http://www.domain_name.com/new_file.html

Or

Redirect 301 /old_file.html http://www.domain_name.com/new_file.html

If you want to re-direct a domain who’s URL has been changed then:

RedirectPermanent / http://www.new_domain.com

  • Re-direct 302:

It’s another type of re-direct which is used for a temporary move of search engine to the new page.  In this case, the old page is not dropped by search engine and new page is not indexed. It transfers 0% page ranking to the new page and hence it must not be used. This is good for situations when a page or site is unavailable for some time due to maintenance reasons and the owner want to transfer traffic to another location just for time being. Always try to use re-direct 301 in every case to keep your page rankings and worth with respect to search engine.

  • Re-direct 404 (Error message):

This is another re-direct commonly called 404 error message and it’s a client side error. This error message is displayed in response to the reason that a user could not access a web page due to its unavailability or slow server speed or any other reason. This also appears when user type wrong URL for a site or when a web site or page is moved or removed. You can guide the user through this error message to move to new location on inform him/her about removed page.

The main purpose of re-direct 404 is to customize the possible errors that can appear at client end and instead of displaying a weird looking browser error page, provide the visitor with some details of errors and guide him to right location.

SEO Friendly URLs

When we talk about online business and websites ranking race, SEO (search engine optimization) comes to our minds instantly.  SEO has many important factors and the most important of them all is URL of web site. Think about a site having two URLs, one is www.mysite.com/pets-cats and the other URL for the same site is www.mysite.com/pets% “P?$^10/10.htm. Now which one is more easily understandable and good looking for user eye? The first one shows that in a site about pets, there is a pet section and it has a category in it call “cats”. In the second case the URL contains certain symbols or database query results and is not giving any detail about the page. Also the first URL is easy to remember by the site visitor and they can revisit that page again if they keep the URL in mind but the second one cannot be remembered.

SEO friendly URL is the one that gives certain good details of what the page or site is about and what can be its contents. These URLs are easily process-able and understandable by the search engine crawlers as well as by the end user or site visitor. Through a SEO friendly URL, you are telling the search engine what your site is all about and making it easily understandable by it. Once the search engine can understand your site, it will naturally pick it as a result of a query and chances are greater that it will rank the site higher.

How to make a URL SEO friendly (URL Re-writing):

On web we see some sites have very SEO friendly URLs while certain don’t have such URLs. If some site owner has not a user friendly URL and want to make user and SEO friendly, there is a technique called “URL Re-writing”. In this process you re-write the URL using some tools provided by your site host server and make the URL more search engine and user friendly. One problem with URL re-writing is that a SEO friendly URL can be easily understand by search engines and the site visitors but they are not understandable by the web server. So we write some code or command so that the query to web server and database of site would remain the same (symbolic) internally but the URL at the address bar of browser would display in a SEO friendly manner. So the web hosting server, search engine and site visitor would remain easy at their ends.

Tools for URL Re-writing and .htaccess file:

Depending upon the software your host server is using, there are certain URL re-writing tools available in the system. In some cases these tools are built in as for example in Apache servers while in others they can be installed and approached by requesting your ISP.

The easiest URL re-writing is available in Apache based servers where there is a built in module call “mod_Rewrite”. To start with URL re-writing, we first of all look for or create a file called “.htaccess” file in the root folder of the site. The .htaccess file is a control or configuration file that causes configuration changes at the host server software or as in this case Apache. You create this file and place it at your host server and in order to transfer and place it at your host server, you must be careful as if there occur any error, the server will display the error message. The .htaccess file performs two tasks:

  • It tells the Apache to turn on re-write engine at its end (command used is RewriteEngine on)

  • It tells Apache which rules the engine must use for re-writing URL

If we want to re-write the above mentioned URL from this form www.mysite.com/pets% “P?$^10/10.htm to a SEO friendly form “www.mysite.com/pets-cats” the command will be somewhat like this:

RewriteEngine on

RewriteRule      ^pets-cats/?$       pets% “P?$^10/10.htm    [NC]

^pets-cats/?$: This section is called the “pattern”. Whenever the request for this URL will come to server, the server will match the pattern in its database to any “Substitution” of the URL and will use “Substitution” for its own processing and finding and will display and return the “pattern” as a query result. The pattern is what is displayed on the address bar of the browser when the requested page is returned as a result of the query. This is basically SEO friendly URL.

pets% “P?$^10/10.htm: This is called “Substitution” and will be used by server for its processing and understanding. The Substitute is what the actual address of a certain page with respect to web server.

When a request for a web page is sent in form of “pattern” (or SEO friendly form), the server looks for its match that whether its “substitute” is present, and when it finds the “substitute” it will swap the “pattern” with “substitute to find out requested page in database and will display the result page URL in form of “pattern”.

So the server process the request in its own understandable way and will return the results in “our defined” way in browser.

[NC]: This is a Flag; A Flag tells Apache how to apply re-write rules. In this case the “NC” is telling Apache that re-write rule is case-insensitive.

Importance of headings tags and their optimization in SEO

Importance of headings tags and their optimization in SEO

HTML heading tags are used to design the page and highlight the important sections of the page contents. By using headings, the contents of the page are organized and design looks good and easy to read. Headings increase the web site ranking in search engine and make it easier for search engine crawler to process and understand the page contents quickly. For better search engine optimization (SEO) always include headings and important keywords in the heading tags. One thing should be kept in mind that page title, headings and page contents must be related to each other and must be in order as this will increase the chances that the crawler will pick your site.

Importance of using heading tags:

  • From user side: It is a common reader observation that if a topic is written using headings in it for highlighting important sections, it is very easily readable, understandable and memorable. If you are not using headings, your page contents are all a mess and outlook is very poor to reader. To keep reader’s interest and attention, headings are must. It is analysed by certain researches that site visitors do not read all the contents thoroughly but they just go through them or scan them. Here headings are easy way for readers to understand a page quickly and they will not leave it if it is not hectic for eyes as compared to a page without headings.

  • From SEO side: As SEO is all about search engines and visitors, by using headings in proper way the attention of both the search engine and the visitor is gained and target (which is higher ranking and good traffic) is achieved. The search engine crawler ranks a page with headings better than the page without headings which is all messed up.

Types of heading tags in HTML:

There are six levels of heading tag in HTML and they are H1, H2, H3, H4, H5 and H6. Headings H1 and H2 should be very much close to the page title and must include keywords and must be used for SEO. All the other four headings (H3 to H6) are sub headings or subsections and must be used for readers to better understand the page contents. The numbers are given to the headings from the “most important” or H1 to the “least important” or H6 heading.

Importance of heading H1 and H2 in SEO:

H1 and H2 and specially the H1 must be used for the search engine as it gives much weight-age to them over the other four headings. The search engine crawler reads the page contents and it analyses the relevancy and quality from the initial portion of the page contents. This is the reason why headings H1 and H2 are important as they come in initial section of contents and if written in proper way having all important keywords, the crawler will rank the page better. The important primary and secondary keywords must be place at the begging of both headings H1 and H2 to make them more emphasize-able and visible.

Avoid too much headings:

At times there are some portions of the text where headings are not required and purpose is gained by putting a sentence in “bold text” or “in quotes”. Too much headings look bad and tiring to eyes, tell less about the contents and are confusing for readers. Use headings at places where required the most and keep a decent quantity of them as per the length of the page contents.

Example of using heading tags in optimized way:

The main purpose of using heading tags is achieved when you not only use them but also “optimize” them from SEO prospective. As already mentioned above, heading tags (especially H1 and H2) are the best on-page place to put important primary and secondary keywords. For example if your page contents are about “IT job Dubai” which is also the primary keyword and there are some other jobs on page and secondary keywords are like “System admin. Job” or “Programmer job” etc. then the H1 text must be like this;

<H1> IT job Dubai ……………………………………………………. </H1>

The space contains the other selected heading text by you. The example shows two very important points

  1. Place the primary keyword/s in H1

  2. Place the primary keyword at start of H1 text

For the same example the H2 text will be like below;

<H2> System admin. Job ……………………………………………….. </H2>

So the secondary keywords can be used in H2 in the same way (i.e. at start of H2 text).

Summary:

As per all above discussion we come to the point that headings tags are very important on-site SEO factor and if used in an optimized way, could raise ranking and traffic. Only some points are to be kept in mind;

  • To use headings where they make sense and avoid over using.

  • Place keywords in headings but don’t stuff them to give a spam look to search engine

  • H1 must be given prime importance and the tag should be one for every page

Importance of Meta Tags in SEO

Meta tags are HTML tags and they provide details or data about the web page to search engine. They are normally hidden (Meta keyword tag) and are readable by the search engines only and not the site visitor. Once a search engine crawler understands your page better, it ranks the page higher. If we go about two years back, Meta tags were really important for putting keywords and gaining higher ranking in search engine. Site owner and web masters simply stuff the Meta tags with keywords and sometimes irrelevant keywords just to have high traffic and recognition by search engines. The Meta tags were spam so much by site owner and webmasters that they became irrelevant for most of the search engines now especially Google. But still they have some importance and they should not be ignored. Meta tags are still important for Yahoo and Bing search engines but a very lower or no value for Google.

With respect to all above points, Meta tags should not be left blank and must be used in a very concise and to-the-point way to give search engine a natural and accurate impression of them. Some important Meta tags and their usage is mentioned below;

  • Title tag:

Title tag is a type of Meta tag and this is the one and only Meta tag that is still very important for search engine understanding, user satisfaction and site ranking. It is one of the three most important SEO factors and must be used properly. Title tag should be relevant to page contents and must be attractive enough to trigger the reader to click title and visit web site. This Meta tag length should not exceed from 70 characters for good results.

  • Meta description tag:

A Meta description tag is a summarized description of the web page and is written for search engine. It is shown right under the page title in search engine result page and is shown by the reader after page title. This Meta tag has some importance in Google search engine and must be written carefully and in comprehensive way. The Meta description tag tells the search engine about web page contents if used in a good way. Meta description tag should provide relevant and brief description of the web page and helpful for ranking the site in search engine results. The length of this Meta tag must be from 50 characters to 140 at most.

  • Meta keyword tag:

Meta keyword tag is a tag for writing most relevant primary and secondary keywords on the page and it is also written for search engine giving it details about page and keywords. You should use it with care and put 3 to 4 important keywords in Meta keyword tag.

  • Robot Meta tag:

If you want to hide some contents of your web page then you can use robot Meta tags. These tags are written for hiding certain page from indexing by search engine. The reason behind not indexing some web page may be to avoid competitors accessing it.

Summary:

As per the new SEO techniques and after Google Panda and Penguin updates, I recommend focusing on quality page contents instead of Meta tags. The only important Meta tag is description tag and it should be used in a to-the-point way for better results. Concentration on quality page contents, quality backlinks and good title tag are the key to success and enhance the SEO.

Importance of Writing Title Tag in SEO

SEO has three most important factors nowadays which are page contents, the links and third one is page title or title tag. Page title or title tag is very useful and must be comprehensive as it is the brief description of what your site is all about. If the description is good enough then the page will be approached by both search engine and the end user.

Definition of Title Tag:

A title tag is the page title or description of a web page; you can say a summarized definition about page contents. This is the part of the web site contents that appear bold on search engine result page and is the first overview of your web site.

Page title is important for both the search engine and the site visitor. For search engine, the crawler will read the title tag and get the idea about page contents and then go to the page contents. If title tag is written and used carefully, higher search engine ranking can be achieved easily.

From user point of view, when a user searches for something in a search engine and a result page is displayed, what thing triggers the reader to click and come to your site instead of so many others? Obliviously this is your page title or title tag; it is like the “first impression” of your web site to the reader that should be great.

Title tag occurrences:

The Title tag or page title appears on three important places on the net and all these places are for the users or visitors so if title is used carefully, it can cause good traffic to the site. These places are:

  • Web browsers:

When a page is displayed in a web browser, the page title appears on the top bar as well as the part of the URL of the page. This portion gives valuable information to the end user about the page contents and you can create a good impression on user and the user will revisit you if he finds your page easily understandable.

  • Search Engine Result Page:

The first impression about your site is its page title that appears in the form of bold text in search engine result page. Visitor normally reads the bold part or page title on result page and compares it with what he is looking for. If the displayed page title is relevant to its query then he will open that site. So the page title must be written in comprehensive and “problem solving” way.

  • Other web sites and social media sites:

When you share your links on social media web site (like LinkedIn, Face Book or Google+) it’s the title tag that appears there and causes users to understand what the page is all about. So again it has importance in terms of the web page reputation, introduction and impression.

I will describe some important factors that should be kept in mind while writing title tag or page title:

  • Relevant page title tag:

If the search engine finds that the title tag is relevant to the contents of the page, it will rank the site higher but if it finds it irrelevant the crawler will drop the web page. I recommend you to first write the page contents and decide the title tag after concentrating the contents. Keep in mind: page title or title tag is a key to your site success and a door to enter into the site.

  • Interactive and attracting title tag:

The title tag should be so much attractive that it must trigger the reader to click it and visit the site. Writing a good title tag is the first step to bring visitor to the site and the second step is good and relevant (to page title) page contents.

  • Keywords in title tag:

The best use of keywords is to place them at the beginning of title tag text. The primary keyword should come first followed by secondary keywords. It is a good SEO technique from search engine point of view as keywords in title tag are checked by crawlers and are ranking increases. But one thing should be kept in minds that don’t be greedy at this point and don’t spam the page title tag with keywords. Be more specific and relevant as smart search engine crawler will drop you if it finds any effort or sign of spamming.

  • Keywords separation:

You should separate the keywords in page title tag with pipes (|) or hyphens (-) instead of underlines or commas. The advantage of using pipes and hyphens is that they are easy to read out by visitors and good from SEO point of view. If your keyword is “it-job” and user query string in “it job” or “itjob”, your keyword will be treated same as the search engine ignores pipes and hyphens and search engine crawler will consider the keywords written this way more than any other way.

  • Length of page title tag:

The maximum characters of page title tag that are displayed on search engine result page are 70. The others are not shown but with dots (………). Keep the length of title tag text to 70 characters otherwise some text will be missing and causes confusion for the reader. In order to make your title tag “clear” and all “understood” by the reader, keep its length of 70 characters.

  • Use of numbers in title tag:

Use of quantity or numbers in title tag writing is another good attractive technique for attracting visitors. If one title is “How to use face polisher” and the other is “10 ways of using face polisher”, then the more attractive title tag for users will be the second one.

  • Company or brand name

Also include the name of the company or brand in the title tag text. Good position for the company name is to place it after primary and secondary keywords or at the end of page title tag. The company or brand name will help you from search engine point of view as well as the user.

  • Use of Acronyms (Abbreviations)

As per good technique, the acronyms should be avoided if they are not most commonly used by the public. But in some cases they should be used in page title as they are the part of user search string. For example in case of any query having “search engine optimization” word, people normally type “SEO” or “seo” in the search string. So for most commonly used acronyms, you can use them in page title to attain search engine attention and traffic but avoid those which are not used commonly.

  • Use of modifiers in title tag:

Use of modifiers to increase importance of title tag or page title is also common. Modifiers are words that add more value and attraction to any title like “very”, “most”, “cheap”, “best” etc. When modifiers are added with the title tag they generate more enthusiasm and attraction for the reader.

  • Each page title tag must be unique:

A web site has number of pages and each page title must be unique hence every title tag must be written uniquely. This works in two ways; one it describes contents of every page separately, second it prevents search engine processing confusion about every page. If all pages have separate title tag, search engine can better understand the nature of every page but if title tag for all pages is same, it will be confused as which page has what purpose and will most likely drop such site.

Summary:

As per all above factors, title tag is one of the three most important SEO techniques so must be given importance and time. Certain title tag writing softwares are also available in market in which you feed the page contents and they decide page title for you but still you can’t rely on some system for doing such an important and sensitive task. You can get idea about title tag from them and then add your own thoughts into it.

On-Site SEO

On-Site SEO is a set of techniques or alterations which you do in your web site files, codes and structure so that it can be easily recognized by search engines and ranked high. These are the tools you add to your web site and it is at your end. You simply make your site more readable by search engines so that it can be dragged and placed well in Search Engine Result Page. Most of the times on-site SEO is neglected by the site builders and owners but this is a very key tool to raise ranking in search engine results. I will discuss factors or areas which are to be considered for a good on-site SEO process.

  • URL description

URL is a very important and initial factor for on-site SEO and it should include the keyword and should be in a way which describes the web site nature to search engine and readers. Having primary keyword in the URL will help raising the ranking and increasing the possibility that the site will be indexed by search engine.

  • Internal links and broken links:

Internal links are another important factor for on-site SEO. Web site has many pages and all of them are linked internally with each other. All these links should be natural and their anchor text should be written in true sense and must include the keyword. Use the keywords in anchor text in a natural way that will describe the nature and content of the destination page.

Also the broken links must not be present on your site as it will lower the worth of the site with respect to search engine.

  • Web site speed

If the hosting provider of your web site has speed and response problems most often, your site will not be picked by search engine because of low speed. Also the site contents should not be too heavy that they reduce its speed and causing trouble in indexing process of search engine.

  • HTML code:

HTML code is the most important on-site SEO factor and must be handled in a careful way. Following are some of the areas in HTML code that need attention:

Title tag:

The page title is the part of web site that appears in search engine result page and represents the nature of your web site. It must include primary keyword and if possible the secondary keyword as well. The page title should be very attractive and comprehensive to attract the reader and search engine in a natural way. Also each page on your web site must have a unique title to avoid confusion of search engine and give it a clear look of page information. It will help the reader and search engine to understand the purpose of every page easily if its title is unique and will raise the ranking. If all the internal pages have the same title, it will confuse the search engine and search engine consider it as all the pages are same and will ignore the site as a result of this confusion. So title tag must be used in a useful way.

Meta description tag

Right under the page tile, the page description is displayed in search engine result page giving more detailed look about site. Don’t fill the description tag with keywords instead write the description in organic way.

Head tag

The bold heading in page contents should include keywords but not too much stuffed by them. Keyword stuffing is no more considered by the search engines.

Meta keyword tag

It was previously used to give a more comprehensive look to search engines and it was written for search engines. Now a days this tag has lost its importance because of too much spamming but still you should consider it and add one or two keywords for search engine’s easiness.

  • Keywords positioning:

Another very important factor for on-site SEO and must be handled technically. Keyword density is to be handled carefully for good results and overall page density must not be more than 3%. Try using secondary keywords and synonyms instead of primary keywords all the time for better output. Following are the important places where keywords can be used for better on-site SEO results:

Keyword in domain name:

If the primary keyword is part of domain name, and it describes the site meaningfully than this a very useful place for putting keyword

Keyword in page title

Another important place as described earlier to place keywords, title is shown in search engine result page and should be attractive. People normally click the site after reading the title and search engine crawls the site after reading title as well. So it should be comprehensive, must have keywords and length should not exceed 70 characters.

Keyword in anchor text

Placing keywords in anchor text will help getting better idea of what the destination page is about. This is helpful for search engine for indexing the internal linked pages

Keyword head tag

It is good to place keywords in H1 tag and reduce in further headings.

Keyword in ALT tag

This is a very important and often much neglected aspect. From on-site SEO point of view, putting keywords in ALT attribute is very important and raises the ranking of the site. The ALT text must have primary keyword in it for better results.

Keyword in page contents

I will repeat again that keyword density should not be too high and it should be less than 3%. Place the keywords in contents if necessary and appropriate and don’t put them just to fullfil the desired requirement if they are not fit at place. The main purpose is that content should look natural to the reader and search engine is also emphasizing more and more on contents after Google Panda and Penguin updates.

  • Page contents:

Update your site contents regularly to give an active and lively look to your web site. Contents should be original and must never be copied from any other place. Quantity of page contents must be kept in mind as well as the quality. Don’t go for too long contents just to fill lot of pages but write naturally and as desired so that you might not lose audience’s interest.

  • Social media network:

Keep on visiting it and leaving links of your site there. This will improve the backlinks as well as the ranking and worth of your site. One thing must be kept in mind that good sites must be back linked as it shows search engine the worth of your own web site.

Conclusion:

By concluding here I emphasize that online business and marketing are important and sensitive fields and every little aspect must be viewed and focused carefully.

Writing SEO optimized web site contents

Writing SEO optimized web site contents

SEO optimized web site contents are the contents written using all SEO techniques to achieve higher search engine rankings and greater traffic. These contents are written in a natural and organic way without copying any text from other sites or using “smart bad tricks” like spamming etc. to mislead search engines. The quality of web site contents is the basic factor which can either lift your site or drop it from search engine eye.

Why web site contents are so important recently?

From last two years SEO became a very technical and sensitive process especially after Google Panda and Penguin updates. Two years back there were certain factors that were very important and helpful in raising the search engine rankings but now they are no more in use. Previously the webmasters gain the search engine attention by spamming keywords everywhere on site and some time the irrelevant keywords and by using Meta tags even if the web site contents were of low quality. The search engine was not smart enough in past and smart web master could easily mislead it by using certain spamming ways.

Recently the search engine is smart enough to catch all spamming tricks and drop such sites. The most important three factors which are used by SEO are web site contents, links and title. So after search engine becoming smart and intelligent, the “web site contents” are the number one on-page SEO technique.

Web site contents: The prime SEO factor:

Latest Google algorithms are more intelligent and prefer quality contents above all other techniques. You have created a web site, analysed the keywords, design is cool, created the backlinks and all is done well but if web site contents are of low quality all other efforts are also wasted as you will not be picked by crawler. Web site contents allow the search engine crawler to understand what the site or page is all about and once the crawler gets your site or page, chances are greater that it will pick you. Not only for search engine but contents are also important for visitors and if they find the web site contents worthy and answer to their queries, they will definitely revisit your web site again.

Components of web site contents:

There are two components or parts of web site contents

  1. It is written for human beings or readers and visible to them on web on-site called site or on-page contents

  2. It is written for search engine better understanding of a web site and is called Meta data. This part is hidden from reader.

The more important of the two components is the first one. It is not totally for the readers but it also includes certain sections which are for search engine. In the below mentioned section I will describe these two components in detail.

Writing optimized on-page web site contents:

The on-page web site content is the text shown on the web page for readers and it has certain factors for search engine understanding as well. The steps are given below;

  • Choose the primary and secondary keywords for web site contents

The first step is to finalize the keywords (both primary and secondary) for the site. This step is better done using some keyword analysis tools (like market samurai or Google keyword analyser). Try to emphasize more on “long tail keywords” as user normally type long tail query string instead of short one.

  • Finalize the keyword density

The keyword density is the percentage of keywords used in web site contents. The keyword density should not be greater than 3%.

  • Write down page text after niche study and knowledge

Write down a ruff text after having complete knowledge of niche or topic you are going to write on.

  • Avoid copying contents from other sites

Never try to copy any text or portion of text from some other related web site as Google is smart enough to spam the copied text and drop the ranking

  • Heading tags usage and keyword placement

The heading tags are used to arrange the web site contents into section for easy understanding. Use heading tags from H1 to H6 and place important keywords in H1 and H2. The keywords must come at begging of the heading for more notice by search engine crawler. The heading text must be informative and attractive for search engine and readers. Placing keywords properly and carefully in heading tag will attract search engine and making text triggering will attract reader.

  • Keep web site contents flowing:

The web site contents must be in flow and don’t break the flow and consistency. Relate all the headings and text and don’t get out of track.

  • Include images, tables, flow charts, graphs and lists to arrange data

Images must be used with care having the “ALT” text present in the backend. Images, tables, flow charts, graphs and lists must be relevant to the web site contents but avoid using too much images and keep a decent combination. All these features are added into web site contents for better user understanding as images is not process-able by search engine but having “ALT” attribute will serve the purpose if you place keyword in “ALT” text.

  • Contents updating:

Web site content review is necessary on regular basis and keep fresh contents specially include blog section and RSS feeds etc.

  • Page title tag

As per my opinion the page title must be decided after writing the whole web site contents as it is a summarized form of web site contents and can’t be written until the whole content are written. Certain points to be considered for page title are;

  • The page title must be “SEO friendly” and you must ask the developer to write it the way you decided.

  • Each page title must be unique

  • Page title tag text should be close to H1 text

  • Review of contents for grammar and spell check:

If you have written a good web site contents but it has certain “grammatical” and “spelling” errors, a bad impression is made on the reader. So before posting the web site contents read them once from the begging for any such errors and post an error free content on the site.

  • Meta data and use of Meta tags:

Meta tags are used to provide more information to search engine about the web site contents or nature and they are hidden from human beings. The most commonly used Meta tags are

  • Meta keywords: Used to write primary and secondary keywords for the search engine better understanding and attention

  • Meta description: Most commonly used tag for writing page description to be displayed in search engine result page and also used by search engine for analysing the contents.
